PURPOSE:To expand the design variety or pure titanium and hard titanium alloy armors for a watch by preparing and finishing the surface thereof with a buff rotating at a low speed and further finishing the surface with a no-load buff, and enabling the application of a mirror surface finish thereto with a surface roughness of 0.5mum or less. CONSTITUTION:A raw blank available via the punching of a pure titanium plate material into the predetermined shape, is formed using a general-purpose press and applied with a boring process via cutting. Then, the rotational speed of a buff is set to 1,000rpm and an abradant of an Al system and a cushion material of a paraffin system are applied thereto, thereby preparing the external surface of the article. Thereafter, the rotational speed of the buff is set to 2,000rpm and said Al system abradant is applied by approximately two times as much as a quantity required for a normal polished article. And the article is subjected to a finishing process via the application of the buff to such an extent that the abradant remains on the article slightly in alternate directions. Finally, a no-load buff is used for processing the article lightly to such an extent as the removal of the abradant adhering to the article. As a result, the surface roughness of the pure titanium armors for a watch is made 0.3mum or less. |
