PURPOSE:To shave a projection on the surface of a disc media and finish the surface to be all the more smooth by turning the media in both normal and reverse directions. CONSTITUTION:When a burnish tape 6 is moved from the outer track of a disc media 1 to the inner track thereof, the media 1 is turned in a normal direction. When the burnish tape 6 is moved from the inner track of the media 1 to the outer track thereof, the media 1 is turned in a reverse direction. As a result, a projection 7 of approximately a few hundred Angstrom height formed around the hole 10 of the disc media 1 is shaved to be small enough and the surface of the disc media 1 is all the more smoothed. Consequently, a relationship between the disc media 1 and a head is improved when the media 1 is driven, and a media crush can be prevented. |
