The invention relates to a device for separating impurities, containing a tubular separator housing (2) having an inner flow cavity (4) which by means of a screen-like partition (5) is partitioned into a first and a second chamber (6 and 7). The inlet port (8) of the separator housing (2) in this arrangement effects a flow connection of the first chamber (6) with the exterior, as does the outlet port (9) of the separator housing (2) with respect to the second chamber (7). There are arranged, in the second chamber (7), perpendicular to the partition (5), cylindrical filter elements (10) forming groups (101-104), the filter elements (10) of one group in each case having a length which is different from that of the other groups, and the groups (101-104) of the filter elements (10) in each case being arranged symmetrically with respect to one another on the partition (5). <IMAGE>
