A tyre pressure control valve for a tyre pressure control device in motor vehicles is proposed, whose switching function is insensitive to soiling or wet. The control valve has a seat valve (23) with valve seat (20) which is fixed to the housing and a valve element (22) which interacts therewith and is mounted on a control piston (16) with control faces (25, 26), lying opposite one another, for pressure to act on. A valve closing spring (15) loads the control piston (16). The control piston (16) bounds an outwardly hermetically sealed relief space (34) which has a large volume and is connected to the section (36), mounted in front of the valve seat (20) and continuously connected to the first valve port (17), of the interior (35) of the valve via a non-return valve (38) with blocking device pointing towards the relief space (34). <IMAGE>
