PURPOSE:To enable safe insertion operation without impairing the shut-down capacity of a nuclear reactor even in the control rod insertion operation in the nuclear heating process of the reactor by injecting a liquid poison into a moderator while calculating the charge reactivity associated with temp. rise. CONSTITUTION:The target value of number of withdrawal in order to withdraw a specified number or above of the control rods at all times is set by a device 14 for setting the target value of the withdrawal of the control rods, and the threshold value of the number of insertion to prevent the insertion of the control rods above the threshold number in order to shut down the reactor is set by a device 15 for setting the threshold value of the insertion of the control rods in the case of executing the control rod operation for the purpose of reactivity control in the nuclear heating process of the reactor. The number of withdrawal of the control rods is maintained near the target value by properly injecting the liquid poison of the amt. calculated by a device 20 for calculating the injection amt. of the liquid poison into the moderator. The insertion operation of the control rods is stopped by the signal from a device 22 for generating the signal to prohibit the insertion of the control rods, if the number of insertion of the control rods attains the threshold value. The liquid poison is then injected into the moderator via a device 21 for instructing the injection of the liquid poison. The withdrawal operation of the control rods to the target value is thus executed. |
