PURPOSE:To detect automatically the size of a record with a simple mechanism, by setting a record size detector which is pressed to the outer circumference of the record at the panel part outside a turntable and securing the coupling between the record size detector and the open/close of a dust cover. CONSTITUTION:When a dust cover is closed, a projection provided to the rear side of the cover presses down a push-arm 14a of a record size detecting mechanism 14 which is provided at a panel part outside a turntable 3. A substrate 10, intermediate lever 12 and record size detecting lever 16 interlock the push of the arm 14a. The outer circumference of a 17cm record put on the table 3 can be stored within the table 3 and has no coupling to an actuator 11a of a switch 11. However, a 30cm record covers up to a position 18 outside the table 3 and presses a detecting arm 16a. Under such conditions, the cover is closed. Thus a lever 14 turns clockwise, and an arm 14c goes along a cam face 16c. Then the lever 16 turns toward an arrow A to close the actuator 11a. Thus the size of a record is displayed. |
