A retracting system actuated by the driver control comprises lots of spike-retracting mechanisms (2) and a pulling mechanism. Each spike- retracting mechanism consists of a spike guider (3), a spike (5) and a push member (4). The pulling mechanism consists of a pulling wire (6,7) interconnecting the push members, a circular rod (12), an actuating arm for the circular rod, and a solenoid mounted on the bracket fixed to the axle housing. One end of the pulling wire (6) is fixed to a holding ring (10) and the other end of the wire (7) fixed to the circular rod (12). When the tire rotates a little bit after a solenoid arm (22) holds the actuating arm, the circular rod is shifed to the predetermined position, so that the pulling wire may pull the push members caused to push the spikes.
