A composite profile and a process for its production are proposed, the profile comprising at least two metal rods which are connected in regions, spaced apart in an alternating manner, along the rods with the aid of at least one moulded plastic part which is fastened between longitudinal flanges on the rods. The moulded plastic part is prefabricated and fixedly clamped between pairs of the flanges by the deformation of regions of one flange on each rod. Open cavities remain between the moulded part and the deformed flanges and these cavities are filled by moulding a plastic element in place in order to ensure the connection between the moulded part and the rods. The moulded element also increases the strength of the assembled plastic rod and the entire composite profile. |
