The invention relates to a hydraulic stay 1 which can be fitted to a boat chassis. Such an accessory can be fitted to a longitudinal member 100 of a U-shaped chassis by means of a support 2. In this support 2, a hydraulic thrust cylinder 3 is installed so that it acts as directly as possible along the axis of the load. This thrust cylinder 3 is characterised in that it interacts with the support 2 secured to the longitudinal member 100 of the chassis in order to give multiple height and angular orientation adjustments making it possible, by virtue of a plurality of hydraulic stays 1 arranged on the longitudinal members 100 of the chassis of the trailer, to create a cradle which is perfectly suited to the boat to be transported, regardless of its draught. <IMAGE>
