Agents for the treatment of leather, characterized in that they contain a mixture a) of a carboxylic acid of the general formula X - COOH wherein X represents a radical of the formula -[R-CO-Z-(R'-Z)a ]b -CO-R-COOH in which a and b denote an integer from 1-100, Z denotes NR1 , O or S, wherein R1 = H or C1 -C4 -alkyl, which can be substituted by OH or C1 -C4 -alkoxy, R denotes C1 -C2 -alkylen, which can be substituted by NH2 , -CH =CH-, phenylene, which can be substituted by C1 -C4 -alkyl, or a direct bond and R' denotes C2 -C20 -alkylene, which can be interrupted by see diagramm : EP0209780,P6,F5 or -NR1 -, or denotes cyclohexylene or represents -R"-(Z-R')c -Z-CO-R-COOH in which Z, R and R' have the same meaning as in formula 1, c denotes zero or an integer from 1-100, R" denotes C1 -C20 -alkylene or phenylene, which can be substituted by C1 -C4 -alkyl, or see diagramm : EP0209780,P6,F1 in which Z, R, R' and c have the abovementioned meaning, k denotes an integer from 1 to 6, l denotes zero or an integer from 1 to 5, k+l denotes not more than 6, R"' denotes a k+l-valent C2 -C6 -alkylene radical and R**IV denotes C1 -C12 -alkyl, phenyl, which can be substituted by C1 -C4 -alkyl, or -R-COOR**V wherein R**V = C1 -C12 -alkyl, and the number of carboxyl groups in (I) and (II) is greater than the number of amino groups, and b) a compound containing at least one primary, secondary or tertiary amino group, with a molecular weight of 200-20,000. |
