The invention relates to a directing device for motor vehicles with free steering, having at least one wheel-guiding channel which is arranged on the roadway and is intended for the vehicle wheels located on one side of the vehicle. The wheel-guiding channel has a trough-shaped cross-section with flanks inclined towards the bottom of the channel on both sides. The angles of inclination or angles of slope are chosen to be the same or greater than the sliding-friction angle, so that the entering vehicle wheels slide laterally from the flanks down to the bottom of the channel and are centred. Restricted guidance and perfect positioning of the motor vehicle concerned are thus achieved. <IMAGE>
