<p>PURPOSE: To obtain the subject self-crosslinking vinyl ester dispersion that contains a specific vinyl ester and vinyl silane as essential components, in addition, includes an ethylenically unsaturated compound with reduced or no content of formaldehyde and is useful for strengthening textile fiber structure. CONSTITUTION: When woven fabric fibers are fixed (for example, nonwoven fabric is bonded to each other), polyester fleece is thermally fixed with a copolymer-containing dispersion comprising, as essential components, (A) 40-99 wt.% of a 1-12C branched or straight carboxylic acid vinyl ester (vinyl ester), (B) 1-6 wt.% of vinyltrialkoxysilane bearing a 1-4C branched or straight alkyl or alkoxy group and/or alkyl vinyl dialkoxysilane, and, in addition, (C) 0-40 wt.% of ethylene, (D) 0-13 wt.% of an ethylenically unsaturated hydroxyalkyl functional compound, (E) 0-10 wt.% of an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid, (F) 0-5 wt.% an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid amide and (G) 0-1 wt.% of an ethylenically unsaturated copolymer.</p> |
