In sheet-forming wires for paper machines, it is proposed to turn over the wire longitudinal edges preferably on the wire running side, in order to achieve a sheet-forming wire having strengthened or double-layered edge regions. In the region of the double layering, a mutual connection is preferably made between the wire parts lying on one another. The double-layered wire edge is to be so wide that it covers the regions of the wire exposed to particularly high abrasion. |
