<p>The piston is provided with a skirt (1) with an opening (3) for the piston pin. The axis of this is perpendicular to the axis of the skirt on the side surface of which, and on the sides opposite to the axis of the opening, two grooves (4) are provided having two cylindrical surfaces, the axes of which are parallel to the axis of the skirt. Mounted in each groove is an insert (5) with a cylindrical external surface for contact with the surface of the cylinders (6) of the engine, the radius of curvature of which is equal to that of the cylinder of the engine, and with a cylindrical internal surface, the radius of curvature of which is equal to that of the groove. Each of two springs (7) is located between the insert and the skirt and presses the corresponding insert against the cylinder. The insert in its cross-section has the form of a curved wedge, the max. angle of which does not exceed the angle of friction.</p> |
