PURPOSE:To provide a structure requiring no gripper mechanism and not having a paper supply/feed mechanism, by receiving roll paper in a platen drum and a supplying the paper from the slit of said drum. CONSTITUTION:Roll paper 2 is received in a platen drum 1 and, after the leading end of the roll paper 2 is drawn out from the slit 11 of the drum 1, the roll paper 2 is supported by a cap 6 and a gripper 3 is mounted to the slit 11 to grasp the leading end of the roll paper 2 to set the roll paper 2 to a printer main body. Thereafter, the drum is rotated in a clockwise direction and the leading end of the roll paper 2 is grasped by rollers 4a, 4b and the platen drum 1 is rotated in the counterclockwise direction while the gripper 3 is opened. When the roll paper becomes a predetermined length, the gripper 3 is closed and the rollers 4a, 4b are rotated in a direction releasing the leading end of the paper to release the paper 2. After recording is finished, the platen drum 1 is rotated in the clockwise direction to feed the leading end of the paper 2 to the nip of the rollers 4a, 4b and the platen drum 1 is stopped and the gripper 3 is opened and the rollers 4a, 4b are rotated in the direction shown by an arrow. |
