This invention is a solenoid valve for automatic transmission. This solenoid valve includes a housing, a side wall, a spring and a insertion. The housing has an outwardly extended part including the insertion. In the housing, the ball is caught into between the spring and the inside end of the insertion. The housing contains a coil which surrounds the inwardly extended part of the side wall. The spring is in the axial hole of the side wall. The insertion has an axial hole. When the coil is charged, the ball is departed from the insertion, and when the coil is discharged, the ball coloses the hole of the insertion by spring force.
