PURPOSE:To perform uniform and excellent development over an entire image plane at low cost by pressing an image carrier from behind a flexible development case provided with developing sleeves and a gap control member and thus performing the development. CONSTITUTION:Projection members 130A and 130B are fitted on both side ends of the front surface of the respective development cases on developing device sides as gap control members for setting an accurate specific gap D.S.D between the developing sleeves 111A and 111B and a photosensitive drum 2. A couple of receiving members 2A which have arcuate surfaces concentric with an outer peripheral surface are fixed on both flanks of the photosensitive drum, and the projection members 130A and 130B are made to abut on the receiving members 2A to obtain the D.S.D by the respective developing sleeves. Then the development is carried out by pressing the image carrier from behind the flexible development cases provided with the developing sleeves 111A and 111B and projection members 130A and 130B. Consequently, necessary sufficient functions are obtained without requiring high accuracy unnecessarily, and excellent development is performed, specially, over the entire image plane. |
