PURPOSE:To obtain good electrophotographic characteristics by using an organic pigment limited in sulfur content as an electric charge generating material. CONSTITUTION:The charge generating layer 2 contains as the charge generating material the organic pigment reduced in the sulfur content to <=500ppm by an acid pasting treatment. The sulfur content means that including free sulfur and sulfur contained in the sulfur compound as impurities, and further, the sulfur contained in the pigment itself, and if the content exceeds 500ppm, the obtained electrophotographic sensitive body is reduced in electrifiability and dark attenuation, too, thus permitting electrophotographic characteristics, such as electrifiability, to be enhanced. |
