PURPOSE:To aim at enlarging an engine compartment, in a suspension device having upper and lower arms, by providing an upper arm control mechanism between the upper arm and a vehicle body so as to regulate the movement of the upper section of a wheel inward of the vehicle body in a wheel full bump condition. CONSTITUTION:When a wheel strikes on a convex part in the road surface so as to fall into a full bump condition, an upper arm 12 is displaced upward so that a projection 28 abuts against a stopper 30, and is moved further upward. With this arrangement, a through-hole 16a in a bushing 16 secured to the forward end of a bracket 17 is deformed, causing a plate-like coupling member 26 to rotate about a shaft 22 which is therefore moved outboard. With this arrangement the swinging center of the upper arm 12 is shifted from the shaft 20 to the shaft 22, and accordingly, the movement of the wheel 2 inward of the vehicle body is regulated by the upper arm 12 and the plate-like coupling member 26. Thereby it is possible to enlarging the engine compartment. |
