PURPOSE:To obtain the title molding excellent in frictional and abrasion properties, by mixing a granulated polyamide resin containing microcrystalline wax with a specified amount of an ultrahigh-MW polyethylene powder and molding the mixture with a ram extruder. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. powdery or granulated polyamide resin containing 1-30wt.% microcrystalline wax is mixed with 1-30pts.wt. ultrahigh-MW polyethylene powder. The mixture is fed through a hopper 2 to the cylinder 1 of a ram extruder 7, and compressed by the movement of a ram 5 to form a caking 7. Although the microcrystalline wax separates from the polyamide resin in this caking step, it is absorbed by the ultrahigh-MW polyethylene. This caking 7 is continuously extruded, molten and solidified to obtain a molding 8 useful as an oilless sliding member. |
