PURPOSE:To securely correct a skew of a recording paper, by providing a supplying means for feeding out the paper with a delay corresponding to the amount of an overshoot generated at the time of stopping the paper, in the case of feeding out the paper waiting on the upstream side of register rollers. CONSTITUTION:The leading end of a recording paper 6' is detected by a leading end detector 2 provided on the upstream side of a pair of register rollers 1. The amount of an overshoot generated due to rotational inertia of supplying rollers 3 or the like when the paper 6' is made to wait at an arbitrary position on the upstream side of the register rollers 3 and on the downstream side of the detector 2 based on a detection signal from the detector 2 is detected by a detecting means 52. At the time of feeding out the waiting recording paper 6' in response to a paper-supplying instruction signal, the paper is fed out by a supplying means 53 with a delay corresponding to the amount of the overshoot detected by the detecting means 52. As a result, a skew of the paper is securely corrected by collision of the leading end of the paper against the register rollers 1 after stoppage of the register rollers 1, regardless of an increase in feeding velocity or a reduction in the gap between successive papers. |
