PURPOSE:To conserve labor and a time in horizontal rule printing, by constituting the title printing device so that a printer can automatically print a horizontal rule using the command from a higher rank machine. CONSTITUTION:A higher rank machine such as a personal computer outputs a horizontal rule setting command 3 for determining the shape of a horizontal rule to a data preparing part 2. The data preparing part 2 receives the setting command 3 and analyzes the parameter annexed to the setting command 3 to form table data 4 necessary for printing to output the same. Next, the higher rank machine 1 outputs a printing command 6 indicating the kind or length of the horizontal rule to a printing part 5. The printing part 5 receives the printing command 6 and uses the table data 4 to perform required printing. Therefore, work such that an operator designs the patterns of a rule to convert the same to hexadecimal data as is conventional becomes unnecessary and the labor and time required in said work can be conserved. |
