<p>A hinged lid packet suitable for cigarettes having a tamper evident feature includes a lid portion hinged to a body portion and mating with the body portion to form a cuboid with substantially smooth surfaces; a collar portion within the packet extends from the body portion into the lid portion; a panel is connected to the collar portion along a frangible line and is secured, as by adhesive, to the inside of the lid portion; opening of the lid for the first time requires additional force to separate the panel from the collar along the frangible line; in this way it is evident to the user if the packet has been opened previously; when the packet is opened the panel remains secured to the lid portion and an access slot is formed in the collar having a clean, smooth edge.</p> |
