In a fluid treatment process, a gaseous treating agent is required. In a first stage, the fluid circulates a number of times in an internal circular flow (12) and contacts the treating agent. A reaction zone (9, 11, 17) composed of successive vertical and horizontal flow sections is mounted downstream of this circulation zone (3, 4), with no significant re-mixing. When crossing this second stage, the fluid contacts once again the treating agent, which follows the same path of flow. This process is particularly suitable for the ozonization of water.
