PURPOSE:To enhance nonlinear optical responsiveness of a wavelength conversion element by forming a cumulative monomolecular film thereon by using a specific nitrogenous heterocyclic compd. thereby forming an org. nonlinear optical material. CONSTITUTION:The cumulative monomolecular film is formed by using the nitrogenous heterocyclic compd. expressed by formula I to obtain the org. nonlinear optical material. In formula, Z<1> denotes an atomic group which forms 5--6-membered arom. rings having at least one nitro group. Z<2> denotes an atomic group forming pyrrole, imidazole, pyrazole, triazole, and tetrazole rings which may be subjected to substitution and ring condensation. The ring of Z<1>, Z<2> has at least one alkyl group of >=15C. More specifically, said compd. is the compd. expressed by, for example, formula II, etc. Since the cumulative monomolecular film is formed by the compd. expressed by formula I, the nonlinear optical responsiveness is enhanced and the transmittance of blue light is improved. |
