摘要 PURPOSE:To perform the correction of the lateral deviation yielded on the surface of the geared shaft quickly and accurately, by contacting a measuring probe to the surface of the gear, accurately detecting the amount of lateral deviation, controlling the compressing operation to the compressing load corresponding to the characteristic change of the geared shaft, and performing the compressing operation. CONSTITUTION:The geared shaft 10, whose gear surface 10a needs the correction of the lateral deviation, is supported by a rotary supporting device 12. The tip of a ball measuring probe 22 is contacted with the approximately central part of the gear surface 10a with a constant energizing force. The driving of one rotation is imparted to the gear 10. At this time, the ball measuring probe 22 is intermittently engaged with a thread 10b of the gear surface and moved up and down. The displacement of the ball measuring probe 22 is detected by a displacement detector 24. An operation and judgement processing part 36 computes the amount of the lateral deviation at the gear surface 10a of the geared shaft 10 based on the input from the displacement detector 24. When it is judged that the amount of the lateral deviation is not within a specified value, a sequence part 38 controls a motor 16, rotates the geared shaft until the maximum position of the lateral deviation of the gear surface 10a faces a compressing ram 28, controls the compressing ram, and makes the compressing ram 28 perform the initial compressing operation to the gear surface 10a of the geared shaft 10 at the compressing load with the computed value.
