PURPOSE:To easily judge the failure of a kick-down switch by comparing the electric output of a throttle sensor with the electric output of a kick-down switch and judging the failure of the kick-down switch. CONSTITUTION:A kick-down switch generates an electric signal which turns on the switch when an accelerator pedal is nearly 100% stepped in. On the other hand, a throttle sensor generates an electric output in accordance with the movement of a throttle valve which is opened/closed being interlocked with the accelerator pedal. Hence, the signal of the kick-down switch is compared with the signal of a throttle sensor by the comparing means of a computer to judge the failure of the kick-down switch and, at the time of failure, it is notified by means of lighting or a buzzer, etc. Thereby, a failure can be easily diagnosed also enbling the failure to be stored as a record in a diagnosis means to smoothly take a countermeasure afterward. |
