A circuit arrangement for supplying an electrical load from a solar generator, having a measuring device for measuring a criterion for the short-current. In the case of the control of the actuating element, in order to take into account the dependency of the optimum load current on the radiation acting on the solar generator, the output voltage of the reference-voltage transmitter has a non-linear dependency on the short-circuit current, the ratio of the output voltage to the short-circuit current increasing as the short-circuit current increases. In particular, the temperature dependency of the optimum load current is also taken into account with the aid of a Schottky diode. The circuit arrangement can advantageously be used for charging batteries in electrical power supply devices for supplying electrical telecommunications transmission technology equipment. <IMAGE>
