PURPOSE:To provide the titled apparatus for enabling the contact and the separation with heat sensitive paper of a thermal head, by a simple structure having such a mechanism that a narrow range and a wide range notch parts are formed to a carriage and an escape part for smoothly guiding a drive element into the narrow range notch part is provided to a guide surface. CONSTITUTION:A narrow range and a wide range notch parts 11a, 11b are formed to a carriage 9 and a drive element 12 driven by a wire 13 is provided in the notch part 11. The carriage 9 is moved along with the drive element 12 which is, in turn, interposed between the narrow range notch part 11a and a guide surface 1b and a thermal head 10 is pressed toward a platen 2. An escape part 1c for smoothly guiding the drive element 12 into the narrow range notch part is provided to the guide surface 1b. |
