PURPOSE:To execute centralizingly and efficiently the picture width converting processing, by controlling the transfer of picture information between an input side device and an output side device of picture information. CONSTITUTION:An AND gate 1 is provided on the way of a transfer path of the picture information between the input and output side devices. Its transfer path is switched under the control of a control section 4. The control section 4 consists of a state control circuit 12, a counter 13, a selector 14 and flip-flops 17, 18, controls the AND gate 1 based on control information set with registers 24, 25, and changes optionally delete width, width for added white background and effective width and the like of input picture information 2. |
