The invention relates to the design of the hole geometry of drawing dies, the design being employed in the processing of continuous stock, especially wire. According to the invention, the object is achieved by the fact that the length of the forming zone is divided into any desired number of sections, each section being assigned a particular angle of inclination of the hole such that the product of the degree of deformation and the yield strength, which is at the same time influenced by the respective prior degree of deformation of the forming stock, is equal. This solution furthermore allows cold forming, at below 300@ Celsius, of continuous forming stock having a diameter greater than 2 mm and provided with coating substances. <IMAGE> |
