PURPOSE:To lessen loss of the output of an internal-combustion engine and enhance the effect of silencing the exhaust noise by furnishing a guide member outside the casing for body equipped with a silencing means, where the member guides the running wind along said casing, and thereby promoting exhaustion of the exhaust gas. CONSTITUTION:Running wind W owing to operation of a car flows from an exhaust pipe side 1 to a body casing 2 and is introduced to the space between the body casing 2 and a guide member 18, where the flow in this section is so smooth as not to cause turbulence to the streamline, and the section area of the flow line is contracted outside an outlet 4 for exhaust gas or a flow contraction part C is situated behind. This contraction accelerates the running wind W to sink its static pressure, and the exhaust gas G at the outlet 4 is exhausted by being attracted by this wind W. Further, the guide member spacing is gradually enlarged behind the flow contraction part C to be extended out, so that pressure loss at this contraction part C is also small. Thus the flow speed distributions of exhaust gas G and running wind W are made uniform. |
