PURPOSE:To remove a rolling oil without generating a flaw on the surface of a metal strip by coating with the lining material having a liquid passing property the peripheral face of a roll barrel and removing the rolling oil by sucking it by making the inside of the roll vacuous. CONSTITUTION:When a wiping roll 2 is pressed from upper and lower both sides to the metal trip coming by traveling, the rolling oil stuck on the surface of the metal strip is subjected to wiping by the roll 2 and also infiltrated into a lining material 2c. At this time the hollow part 2ba in the roll barrel 2b of the roll 2 becomes in negative pressure by the pressure reducing device connected via a vent path 2aa and air hose. The rolling oil infiltrated into the lining material 2c is sucked into the hollow part 2ba of the roll barrel 2b by becoming in a mist shape from the suction hole 2bb of the roll barrel 2b and sucked to the pressure reducing device via the vent path 2aa and air hose. Consequently the slipping of the metal strip and lining material of the wiping roll is prevented. |
