Continuous-flow washing and drying apparatus for mattresses

Beds present in hospitals, clinics, old-people's homes, nursing homes and similar houses are nowadays for the most part equipped with foam mattresses. These are, if at all, disinfected in a disinfection chamber or merely sprayed with a disinfecting solution after a change of patient. An efficient washing in conventional washing machines is not possible. The invention provides a system which efficiently washes and dries the mattresses hygienically. The mattresses are guided automatically into the continuous-flow washing system and are washed, disinfected and rinsed continuously through this in the standing state by means of washing fluid from delivery pipes in different zones. After drainage by roller, the mattresses are fed automatically to a drying chamber and leave the latter at the other end in the dried state.
