PURPOSE:To prevent forms stored in a form storage means from falling even when the 1st unit is opened, by tilting the form storage means in the direction opposite to the slanting direction when the 1st unit is open, and setting its elevation more than the opening angle of the 1st unit. CONSTITUTION:One end side of an upper unit 8 is supported pivotally on a lower unit 9 and it is opened and closed; and a platen 10 is provided on the top surface and an original feeder 11 as the form storage means is provided thereupon. An original placing table 12 is fitted to a separation part 14 slantly in the direction opposite to the slanting direction when the upper unit is open. Then, its elevation alpha is greater than the opening angle beta of the upper unit and, for example, when the opening angle beta is 30 deg., the elevation alpha is set >=30 deg.. This constitution stops the original placing table 12 above a horizontal position even when the upper unit 8 is opened, so an original P is prevented securely from falling without providing an original falling preventing mechanism.
