Crawler mounted bucket wheel excavator - has flexible conveyor belt and carrier system giving greater manoeuvrability

The crawler mounted bucket wheel excavator (5) for open-cast coal working is detachably connected to a latticework conveyor bridge (2) on a swivel platform (3), which is also connected to a crawler mounted loader (9). Inside the bridge (2) is an extendible belt (17) and, at the loader end, a travelling carrier (20) which discharges into a hopper. The bridge (2) is mounted on the loader (9) on rollers (7,13,14) which run on rails, allowing the loader (9) to travel back to the middle of the bridge (2). The bridge (2) can be moved by the loader (9) independently of the excavator (5). USE/ADVANTAGE - This machinery has a smaller turning circle and better manoeverability by virtue of the extendible belt and moving carrier.
