PURPOSE:To effectively wash, dry or allow to react a substance to be treated without causing clogging of a filter, by sending with pressure a liquid and/or a gas to a vessel packed with the substance to be treated through the filter from the bottom and/or the side of the vessel. CONSTITUTION:An apparatus A consists of a cylindrical vessel 1 which is open at both upper and lower ends, and a bottom lid 2 which has been so attached to its lower part as to be freely opened and closed. The bottom lid 2 has a hollow structure, and is provided with many through holes 3 on its upper surface, where a filter 4 such as nylon cloth etc. is so attached as to be freely detached and attached. The bottom lid 2 is further provided on its lower surface with a pressure tube 6 for feeding pressurized substances, said tube leading to a hollow part 5. In the case where this apparatus A is used, for example, for desalting of a sea sand, the sea sand 8 is packed into the vessel 1, and then pressurized water is fed thereto from the pressure tube 6. The pressurized water thus fed fills the hollow part 5 and then is forced to enter the vessel 1 through the through holes 3 and the filter 4. The water then moves upward while washing the sea sand 8, and finally begins to overflow from the upper end of the vessel 1. When the salt content in the sea sand 8 has decreased to a value lower than a predetermined value, the feeding of water with pressure is stopped. Then the bottom lid 2 is opened and the sea sand 8 is taken out. Accordingly, this method is free from clogging of the filter 4, as different from the case where water is fed from the upper part of the sea sand 8. |
