<p>Organic refuse such as animal excrements, vegetable refuse and similar is rapidly putrefied by introducing it into closed inclined pits, where it is broken up and treated by circulating air continuously enriched with oxygen. To ensure uniform decomposition using the simplest possible installation, the matter to be decomposed (1) is introduced into the chamber (2), raised to the required extent by strippers (4), conveyed by the inclined mixers (3) to the pits (5, 6, 7), and finally removed from the plant behind the last pit (7) by suitable devices, for example an endless screw (8).</p> |
