It consists of the combination of a laser emitter 9 creating a plane of light 10, a cell 8 receiving the signals and transmitting them either to a display or to a control box 17 which by using an impulse receiver 18 puts into effect the hydraulic controls directing the tool 16. It is intended to ensure automatic operation as regards levels of a self-propelled grading tool for the surface grading of working surfaces for roads, for construction or for other uses. <IMAGE>
