The object was to provide a process for the preparation of polymers based on butadiene, isoprene and styrene in which the polymer obtained contains more than 70% of 1,2- and 3,4-isoprene units and more than 60% of 1,2-butadiene units. …This object has been achieved by employing certain ethylene glycol dialkyl ethers as cocatalyst in the polymerisation. …The polymers prepared by this process are suitable for the production of tyre treads and damping elements.
