<p>PURPOSE:To provide wear resistance and toughness as well as superior seizure resistance and slip resistance, by specifying the compositional limit values of a graphite-crystallized NiCr cast iron. CONSTITUTION:A cast iron material which has a composition consisting of, by weight, 1.0-1.9% C, 1.5-4.0% Si, 0.5-1.5% Mn, 4.0-15.0% Ni, 2.0-4.5% Cr, 0.4-5.0% Mo, <=0.1% P, <=0.08% S, and the balance essentially Fe and in which graphite is crystallized out in a structure is prepared. Moreover, it is desirable that the graphite comprises about 3-7% of the structure by area ratio and the matrix structure is composed of tempered martensite or pearlite. By the above constitution, graphite can be crystallized out in the matrix without forming eutectic chromium carbide causing slip, and wear resistance and toughness as well as superior slip resistance and seizure resistance can be provided. Accordingly, this cast iron material is suitable for roll material, roller material, and machine member.</p> |
