NEW MATERIAL:An alkali cellulase E-II having a molecular weight of about 34,000 and the following physical and chemical properties. Action, reacting to cellulose such as CMC and phosphate-swollen cellulose and producing glucose, etc.; active pH and optimum pH, active pH is 4-12.5 and optimum pH is 7-10; pH stability, free from deactivation at pH 6-10 key keeping at 5 deg.C for 24hr; working temperature and optimum temperature, working temperature range is 10-80 deg.C and optimum temperature is 50 deg.C; influence of metallic ion, inhibited by Hg<2+> and activated by Co<2+>; influence of inhibitors, free from inhibition by surfactant, chelating agent, etc.; protease resistance, resistant to protease. USE:Advantageous as a compounding component for detergent composition. PREPARATION:Bacillus sp.KSM-522 (FERM P-9370) is cultured in a nutrient medium and the objective enzyme is separated and purified from the disintegrated liquid of the resultant bacterial cells. |
