A method of producing bodywork mouldings or trim made of cellular plastics material reinforced with section elements made of metal or plastics material, of the type in which there is introduced directly into a mould, which is provided with high-frequency electrodes and which is of a size corresponding to the finished product to be produced, the necessary and sufficient amount of a mixture of resin and blowing agent to produce this finished product, the reinforcing element is introduced on or into this mixture of the substance, the mould is closed, it is acted upon by the high-frequency field for the length of time required to melt the PVC and to release the gases arising from the decomposition of the blowing agent, and the resultant finished product is removed from the mould, said method being characterised by the use of a liquid form of the resin or "plastisol", and by the injection of a metered amount of said "plastisol" into a closed mould in which a vacuum prevails. |
