PURPOSE:To form a three-dimensional image colored in a desired color, by a method wherein an image formed of an image forming material having excellent light absorption characteristics is provided on a sheet having a coating layer comprising heat- expandable minute spheres, followed by irradiation with light to provide a three- dimensional image, and a foil provided with a coloring material layer is adhered thereto by applying heat and pressure. CONSTITUTION:A heat-expandable sheet P is provided with a coating layer 2 comprising heat expandable minute spheres 3 on a base sheet 1. An original image is copied on the coating layer 2 of the sheet P by use of a black toner to provide a toner image 4. The sheet P is fed while the coating layer 2 provided with the toner image 4 is opposed to a lamp 21 used as a light source. With the sheet P irradiated with light, the image 4 is heated, whereby the minute spheres 3 beneath the image 4 are expanded to raise the coating layer 3. Next, the side of an adhesive layer 35 of a hot stamping foil S of a desired color is superposed on the toner image 4, and the foil S and the sheet P are passed between heated rollers to adhere the adhesive layer 35 to the molten toner of the toner image 4. With a base film 31 released from the sheet P, a coloring material layer 33 is left on the toner image 4, whereby a colored three-dimensional image is formed. |
