PURPOSE:To enable high-sensitivity recording even with a smaller laser power or shorter pulse width by incorporating nitrogen into an AgZn alloy film to be used as a recording film. CONSTITUTION:The nitrogen partial pressure in an atmosphere is adjusted in a 5X10<-5>-1X10<-2>Torr range at the time of forming the AgZn alloy film by a thin film vacuum forming technique. The nitrogen is, therefore, taken into the alloy film and the thermal conductivity of the alloy film is lowered by the incorporation of the nitrogen therein. In addition, the crystal phase change between the zeta phase and beta1 phase is induced in the lower temp. range. Generation of problems such as substrate deformation is thereby obviated and the optical recording medium having the excellent energy conversion efficiency of laser light is obtd. |
