PURPOSE: To prevent phase deviation by providing a control flag which validates or invalidates data related to frequency information and using or ignoring data related to sent frequency information to obtain a synthesized waveform CONSTITUTION: This electronic musical instrument consists of plural waveform synthesizers 8 and 9 which synthesize musical sound waveforms synchronously with a clock having a relatively high speed, a frequency indication part 6 which outputs data related to frequency information to synthesizers 8 and 9 synchronously with a clock having a speed lower than that of synthesizers, and a control flag 7. The indication part 6 outputs data related to frequency information such as a pitch band to synthesizers 8 and 9 and outputs the control flag which validates or invalidates outputted frequency data, and synthesizers 8 and 9 use or ignore information related to frequency information in accordance with the flag. Synthesized waveforms of synthesizers 8 and 9 are added by an adder 5, and the result is outputted as a musical sound waveform.
