<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a recording fluid which is excellent in quick dryability and can give prints of good grade, by mixing a water-soluble dye with an aqueous medium and specified poly-N-vinylformamide (partial hydrolyzate). CONSTITUTION:An N-vinylformamide monomer obtained by reacting acetaldehyde with formamide and methanol is polymerized in the presence of a water-soluble radical polymerization initiator, and the product is optionally modified in a basic or acidic condition to obtain a poly-N-vinylformamide (partial hydrolyzate) (C) of the formula (wherein a is 15-10,000, and b is 0-7,500). 0.2-12wt.% water-soluble dye (B) (e.g., Direct Black-17), 0.5-5wt.% component C, and, optionally, 0.1-10wt.% (thio)urea, biuret or semicarbazide and 0.001-0.5wt.% surfactant (E) are dissolved in 10-89.5wt.% aqueous medium (A), and the pH is adjusted to 6-8.</p> |
