<p>PURPOSE:To refine coke-oven gas without the need of feedback of coke-oven gas after hydrogenation and hence without the need of complication and enlarge ment of equipment associated with such feedback, by feeding the coke-oven gas to an adsorption unit packed with an adsorbent and subsequently feeding the treated gas to a hydrodesulfurizer unit. CONSTITUTION:Coke-oven gas is fed to a unit 6 packed with an adsorbent, wherein high-boiling hydrocarbons are removed therefrom by adsorption. Subsequently, the treated gas is fed to a hydrogenation reactor unit 8, wherein O2, olefins and sulfur compds. contained in the coke-oven gas are hydrogenated into H2O, paraffins and H2S, respectively. Finally, the H2S is removed by adsorption as ZnS in a desulfurizer unit 9. According to the above-mentioned process, a hydrogenation unit as used in the conventional process can be dispensed with while at the same time eliminating the need of feedback of the treated gas after hydrogenation.</p> |
