PURPOSE:To flatly finish surfaces to be fired when a molded glazed body is fired in a roller hearth kiln, by controlling the output of each of upper and lower burners in the max. temp. part of a firing zone so as to equalize the shrinkages of both the upper and lower surfaces of the body to be fired. CONSTITUTION:Many rollers 12 are arranged in a roller hearth kiln 10 in a direction perpendicular to the transfer direction A of a body to be fired and burners 14 are arranged above and below each of the rollers 12 on both sides. When a both to be fired (a molded glazed body) is transferred in the direction A in the kiln 10 and fired, the temps. of the upper and lower parts of a firing zone II are measured with thermocouples 18 and the output of each of the upper and lower burners 14 in the zone II is controlled with valves 16. Thus, an uncurved flat tile for interior finish is produced by a single firing process. |
