PRINT END INFORMING SYSTEM

PURPOSE:To enable a print device to easily decide the number of pages with which the printing jobs are through by having the output of a print end informing command of a single time given from an external device. CONSTITUTION:An external device 30 transmits the print data equivalent to the number of necessary pages to a print device 40 and delivers a print end informing command (p) to the device 40. The device 40 receives the print data and produces the printing image data to carry out the printing jobs. In this case, the device 40 delivers the print end information to the device 30 after reception of the command (p) and after the print data received right before the command (p) is printed. The device 30 receives the print end information and recognizes the number of pages with which the printing jobs are through to start the transmission of the subsequent print data. Thus the device 30 can recognize whether the printing jobs are through or no with the hitherto print data.
